Inspired by motherhood and identity these mixed media artworks investigate the perception of being “OK” during complex times. “It’s OK” is a series that represents an inner dialogue about conflicts and struggles and the notion – It’s OK not to be OK. This series explores process in an abstract, yet constrained composition driven by shape, color and text.
These mixed media artworks combine text, original digital compositions, pigment transfers, acrylics and oil pastel. I use a specific, chemical process that lifts the pigment from and inkjet print, which I transfer onto my wood panels and and layer with acrylic paints and oil stick.
